OurArchitectural Coatings team has an upcoming opening for a Technical Advisor.
Responsibilities include thefollowing:
Interacting with both Internal andExternal PPG customers. This may includemembers of field sales, store personnel, and the DIY consumer.
Provide accurate Technicalinformation on all PPGAC product lines including but not limited to PittsburghPaints, Porter, Olympic, Glidden Professional, and Flood.
Answering an average of at least 45calls a day.
Provide our sales team and end-userswith recommendations for products, product systems, and application methods.
Complaint resolution and cost-effectivenegotiations.
Work closely with Marketing, CustomerService, and R&D on products, potential issues, and field trials.
Ability to travel for trade shows,R&D trainings, and jobsite visits.
The role of technical service is a keypart of the overall selling effort. PPG markets and sells superiortechnical expertise in conjunction with its products and services. PPGcustomers place a high value on this expertise as it helps them run theiroperations in a cost effective manner. Superior service is a key tomaintaining existing business and developing sales position and strategies toacquire new business.
Required:
Bachelor's degree or significant paint-relatedwork experience in lieu of a Bachelor's degree.
Strong communication and telephoneetiquette skills.
Proficient computer skills includingMicrosoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point). A computer literacy/proficiency test will beconducted.
Must have a good attendance andon-time record.
Must be able to work independentlyand in a group in a self-managed team environment.
Ability to analyze information in anexpedited manner.
Good time management, attention todetails, and organizational skills are imperative.
Desired:
Experience in architectural coatings salesor field experience.
NACE, SSPC, or MPI certification.
Previous experience in retail sales,customer service, or telesales.
Fluent in a second language (French/Spanish).

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
