Senior Accountant
The primary work activity of this position is to manage the company's general ledger. The Senior Accountant needs to achieve accounting accuracy and comply with all internal SOX control rules and external FASB and audit rules.
Responsibilities:
In order to work effectively as a Senior Accountant, the position is expected to:
Prepares and records journal entries by compiling and analyzing account information
Verify information and determine whether the accounting is appropriate
Reconcile more complex general ledger accounts
Review routine journal entries and general ledger reconciliations
Prepare more complex schedules and analysis
Review routine reschedules and analysis
Run reports for various internal and external users
Provide information and analytical information for quarterly 10Q reporting and year end 10K reporting
Create monthly account review recon for SOX control
Perform month-end and quarter-end closings in timely manner
Prepare documents for external auditing
Analyze account balances to identify discrepancies and propose solutions to resolve identified errors.
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Perform a broad range of accounting and finance activities
Required Knowledge and Skills:
Demonstrable knowledge of FASB and SOX as it relates to compliance with the regulations.
Be able to interpret daily business activities into financial language.
Have the ability to work in a dynamic, fast phased, team environment with changing roles, responsibilities, and priorities
Basic
Qualifications:
The successful candidate will have the following skills:

years of experience of accounting experience with multiple business/function areas.
BS in accounting
5
years of progressive accounting experience
3
years of accounting experience in a publicly traded company
Preferred
Qualifications:
Master's degree in accounting or business.
2
years in public accounting at the Big4 or large regional firm
4
years of experience of accounting experience with multiple business/function areas.
7
years of progressive accounting experience
5
years of accounting experience in a publicly traded company
2
years of experience using SAP in an accounting function
CPA License
Work Conditions:
Regular office work
Heavy work schedule every month-end, especially quarter-end
May need extended hours for quarter-end close.
Travel less than 10%
